Fire Prevention Branch - COVID-19

Fire and Life Safety Systems play a vital role in keeping citizens safe. During the current COVID-19 pandemic the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service - Fire Prevention Branch continues to carry out fire inspections to ensure the safe and reliable function of these systems. Fire Prevention Inspectors will write violation notices based on Code and By-Law requirements, while being reasonable with regard to compliance dates for any violations. We continue to respond to Fire and Life Safety System failures in all occupancies.
At this time, Fire Prevention has not been advised of, or is anticipating, any scenario that would entirely shut down the Fire and Life Safety System industry. All service providers should monitor official government websites and continue to conduct their business in the safest manner possible, consistent with Public Health recommendations.
